We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Linux System Administrator to support our growing IT operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in Linux and networking who’s eager to grow, experiment, and make a real impact in a collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do
- Provide user and system-level support across Linux distributions (CentOS 7(still running on some machines), AlmaLinux 8, Linux Mint, Debian)
- Troubleshoot and support various desktop environments – Gnome, KDE, MATE, etc
- Optimize and maintain key applications (Firefox, Chrome, Thunderbird)
- Apply regular system updates and security patches
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues and performance bottlenecks
- Assist in the administration of LDAP and Samba services
- Support mail infrastructure (Postfix, Courier IMAP, Amavis)
- Manage VPNs (IPsec/OpenVPN), firewalls, routing, and advanced iptables rules
- Participate in automating repetitive tasks and improving internal tools (e.g., scripting system checks, backups, and deployments)
- Constantly seek ways to improve infrastructure performance, security, and user experience
What You Bring
- Solid foundational knowledge of networking principles: VLANs, Layer 2/3 switching, and routing
- Experience administering Linux systems, ideally Red Hat–based (CentOS, AlmaLinux); Debian-based familiarity is a plus
- Basic scripting skills in Bash; exposure to Python or Perl is a bonus
- Familiarity with core infrastructure services such as LDAP, Samba, and mail servers
- Understanding of secure connectivity tools (Citrix, RDP, OpenVPN, iptables)
- Exposure to virtualization platforms (e.g., Proxmox, VMware) is a plus
- Good command of English; French is a plus
- 2+ years of experience in a Linux user support or system administration role
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
- Enthusiasm for automation and system optimization
- Curiosity and drive to explore, test, and learn new technologies
- A proactive attitude — not just fixing issues but improving how others work
