About the role:

The System Administrator will provide technical expertise for server administration, tuning, and ensure all supported servers maintain smooth operations through high-availability and performance standards.

The System Administrator will be working independently or in teams and have the ability to effectively gain insight and develop solutions to meet customers’ business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Administer Windows servers: restarts, service checks, resource usage, Event Viewer/syslog analysis
• Develop PowerShell scripts for evaluation and automation
• Manage systems using VMware vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V, and other virtualization tools
• Troubleshoot OS, DB, and middleware network issues; familiar with core protocols
• Linux server administration - server restart, service check and restart; syslogs check; System resource usage check (CPU, filesystem, RAM)
• Familiarity with range of OSs: e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat
• Development of shell scripts for evaluation and automations
• Management of systems through virtualization technologies
• Ability to identify and narrow-down NW issues with OS, DB and middleware, familiarity with common NW protocols
• Handle Windows server alerts, define exceptions, and coordinate with security teams
• Support AD standards (naming conventions, delegation models, etc.)
• Process complex tickets and incidents, including hardware diagnostics and coordination with HW/DC teams
• Troubleshoot and dispatch monitoring alerts; handle service request emails and create tickets
• Follow ticketing best practices to meet SLAs and ensure proper documentation

Requirements:

• Fluency in French and English
• Hands-on experience with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, or similar
• Proficiency in shell scripting
• Strong understanding of system configuration and management
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as KVM, Hypervisor, LXC, or comparable solutions
• Experience working with databases like MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle
• Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2022
• PowerShell scripting
• Active Directory administration
• Database (MSSQL, Oracle)
• Backup SW: Data Protector, HPE StorageWorks, NetBackup, etc.
• A bachelor/master’s degree in computer science/information systems or a relevant field would be a plus
