Position's Highlights: The Geographic Information Systems Engineer will have in-depth knowledge and background in GIS engineering, will be proficient in English, and will be able to support our mapping project with very detailed knowledge of the GIS tools and software. They will be part of an international environment where they will be able to use their technical skills and will demonstrate great analytical skills and attention to detail in designing digital maps, using geospatial data, and analyzing spatial and non-spatial information.

Main Responsibilities:

• Creating, improving, and manipulating digital maps or data using GIS tools
• Performing a variety of data analyses, working on data validation, data cleansing/normalization, and data pre-processing
• Converting data between formats, merging data from multiple sources, simplifying and filtering data
• Supporting different teams by providing different data manipulation tasks
• Documenting, maintaining, and improving data processes

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a GIS Engineer or similar
• University degree in Geoinformatics, Cartography, Geodesy, Computer Science, or any other relevant education
• Practical experience with GIS tools like QGIS or ArcGIS
• Experience with macOS
• Professional proficiency in English
• Motivated to learn how to use new software tools
• Pragmatic and proactive attitude
• Detail oriented
• Excellent communicator
• Able to work both independently and with others in a multicultural environment
• Analytical thinking

Nice-to-have:

• Practical experience with databases, data analysis, and digital maps is a plus
• First knowledge of scripting with Python or any other scripting language is a plus
• First practical experience with the FME desktop/ server is a plus
