A leading organization, part of a large international bancassurance group, with well-established practices across the Bulgarian and European markets. The company provides a broad portfolio of digital insurance products, services, and platforms, and is currently undergoing major digital transformation initiatives. To support this growth, the company is expanding its technology leadership team and is looking to hire an experienced IT Professional for its Sofia-based office to hold the position of:

Application Development Manager

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Lead and oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise software applications.
• Define and execute application development strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage and mentor the application development team, driving performance and professional growth.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of development projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget compliance.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and reliability through reviews and quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate closely with architects, product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices within the development organization.
• Plan and manage the development budget and resource allocation.

Essential requirements for the role:

• 3+ years of experience in a similar leadership or managerial role.
• 3+ years of prior experience as a Senior Software Developer.
• Strong background in software development lifecycle management and enterprise systems.
• Solid technical expertise and people management skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies (C#, .NET, SQL Server, Web APIs)
• University degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in Computer Science, (Software) Engineering, (Business) Informatics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of project and task management, quality standards, and software delivery processes.
• Strategic thinking, planning, and resource management skills across complex project portfolios.
• Very good command of the English language.
