Grove Global Consult is a consulting and recruitment agency providing strategic consulting services to the private business sector worldwide. Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We are currently looking for a Software Engineering Team Lead (Java) for one of our clients.
About the Role: As a Team Lead, you will lead a team of talented Java developers responsible for building and maintaining a core platform. You will play a key role in balancing technical delivery with people leadership — mentoring engineers, supporting technical decision-making, and ensuring consistent, high-quality output aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers through regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and career development support
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of backend services for the their platform
- Collaborate closely with product managers and architects to align technical delivery with business priorities
- Ensure engineering best practices in code quality, scalability, performance, and security
- Review and approve code to maintain high development standards
- Identify and remove technical or organizational blockers impacting delivery timelines
- Troubleshoot issues across staging and production environments
- Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to tools and processes
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Team Lead or Senior Java Developer
- Strong expertise in Java (Java 11+), Spring Boot, and backend development
- Experience designing and delivering scalable production systems
- Deep understanding of software development best practices and design patterns
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and leading sprint ceremonies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes is considered a strong advantage
- Previous experience in high-volume transactional platforms is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
