The Fixed Assets Senior Accountant plays a key role in the accounting, control, and lifecycle management of the Group’s fixed asset base, including both tangible and intangible assets, as well as lease-related activities. The role supports the delivery of accurate, complete, and audit-ready financial information by ensuring consistent capitalisation, depreciation, and reporting of fixed assets across the organisation. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, including Finance, Procurement, and Development, to ensure proper cost attribution, timely recognition of asset movements, and alignment with accounting policies and reporting requirements. The Senior Associate works with a high degree of autonomy on complex or non-standard topics, contributing to the integrity of asset-related balances and supporting the continuous improvement of fixed asset processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Recognition, Capitalisation & Lifecycle Management

• Own the month-end process for identifying, validating, and capitalising asset-related costs, ensuring accurate recognition of additions, transfers, and disposals
• Determine and validate appropriate capitalisation timing and classification of expenditures, distinguishing between capitalisable and non-capitalisable costs in line with accounting policies
• Manage assets under construction, including accumulation of costs, monitoring of project status, and timely capitalisation upon completion
• Play a key role in the capitalisation of internally developed intangible assets, including validation and allocation of development-related costs (i.e. payroll and other directly attributable costs), ensuring alignment with accounting policies
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate capture and classification of development activities, supporting reliable capitalisation of internally generated intangible assets
• Support the ongoing review and monitoring of internally developed intangible assets, ensuring appropriate tracking, completeness of cost build-up, and consistency in subsequent amortisation and lifecycle treatment
• Process asset lifecycle events, including disposals, retirements, splits, and adjustments, ensuring accurate reflection in financial records
• Support the identification and treatment of exceptions related to asset movements or capitalisation activities

Depreciation, Impairment & Lease Accounting

• Ensure accurate calculation and posting of depreciation and amortisation, based on appropriate useful lives and asset classifications
• Perform and support impairment assessments, including identification of indicators and preparation of supporting analyses
• Support execution of lease accounting activities, including lease abstraction, contract review, and recognition of lease-related balances
• Contribute to the ongoing administration and reporting of lease-related data and ensure alignment with accounting and reporting requirements

Accounting Integrity, Reconciliations & Reporting

• Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset sub-ledger, including asset master data, classifications, and accounting attributes
• Perform regular reconciliations between the fixed asset sub-ledger and the general ledger, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies
• Prepare and post journals related to capitalisation, depreciation, reclassifications, and other asset-related adjustments
• Support preparation of fixed asset reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of reported information
• Contribute to period-end and year-end activities related to fixed assets, including reporting, reconciliations, and supporting analyses

Controls, Governance, Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement

• Support the execution of internal controls over fixed asset processes, including validation checks, approvals, and documentation requirements
• Ensure all asset-related transactions are supported by appropriate documentation and follow established review and approval processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance and business teams to resolve issues, ensure accurate data capture, and maintain alignment with accounting requirements
• Contribute to audit-related activities by preparing supporting documentation and responding to queries related to fixed assets
• Act as a knowledge reference within the team, supporting junior colleagues and contributing to process documentation and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including standardisation, automation, and enhancement of data quality and reporting processes

What We’re Looking For

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in RTR, asset accounting, or a similar finance role involving capitalisation, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls, with experience in month-end close cycles, audit-ready documentation, and exposure to fixed asset accounting and capitalisation concepts
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong Excel skills; ability to work confidently with detailed data, reconciliations, and analytical reviews.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a clear sense of ownership over balance sheet integrity.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional, non-finance stakeholders and translate accounting requirements into practical operational inputs.
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken
