Our client is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead their growing team and support R&D, lab operations, and engineering functions by ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of critical materials and services. About the Role: This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing daily procurement operations, supporting client projects, and maintaining service excellence. The successful candidate will oversee a team of procurement professionals working across diverse categories and markets, provide strategic guidance, and step in directly when coverage or escalation is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Procurement Specialists supporting multiple client accounts.
• Ensure all client procurement activities are executed on time, within scope, and according to agreed service levels.
• Provide operational coverage for team members during leave or peak workload periods.
• Manage and oversee the end-to-end sourcing process – from RFQ/RFP to supplier onboarding and contract finalisation.
• Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, acting as the main escalation and performance contact.
• Review and optimise internal workflows, KPIs, and procurement templates to drive consistency and efficiency.
• Support client reporting and business reviews, ensuring full visibility of savings, performance, and risks.
• Identify opportunities for process automation, spend analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, client governance frameworks, and ethical procurement standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, including team leadership or category management.
• Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
• Experience managing multiple clients or stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Hands-on mindset – able to step in and deliver tactical support when needed.
• Proficiency in MS Office and e-procurement tools (e.g., DeepStream, Coupa, SAP, etc.).
• CIPS qualification (or progress toward it) is an advantage.
