Our mission is to design world-class, data-informed, emotionally charged gaming experiences — where every spin, bonus, and win feels perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying. As our Senior / Principal Mathematician & Game Mechanic Designer, you will be the architect of probability and excitement. You will define the mathematical DNA behind our games — balancing volatility, fairness, and anticipation — while collaborating with Product Owners, Artists, and Engineers to turn models into living, breathing entertainment. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role at the intersection of mathematical rigor, behavioral psychology, and creative design. ________________________________________ What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and validate game mechanics, probability models, and reward systems for new slot and casino titles.
- Develop and simulate detailed mathematical models for reels, symbols, paylines, bonus features, jackpots, and progressive systems.
- Ensure all games meet target RTPs, volatility curves, and player experience metrics, through deep iterative tuning and validation.
- Partner with Game Product Owners and Data Scientists to translate mechanics into live behavioral models and optimize player retention.
- Lead the statistical design of features and bonuses, using Monte Carlo simulations and custom tooling to ensure predictability and balance.
- Build or extend mathematical frameworks, scripts, and validation pipelines (e.g., in Python) for repeatable, testable game model creation.
- Drive experimentation on new mechanic concepts — breaking conventions, prototyping new math architectures, and innovating on player experience.
- Provide mathematical documentation and visualizations for regulatory submissions, QA, and internal design reviews.
- 10+ years of professional experience in game mathematics, probability modeling, or computational statistics — ideally in slot, casino, or interactive game design.
- Deep expertise in probability theory, combinatorics, and statistical estimation.
- Proven ability to model random systems with both analytical and simulation-based approaches.
- Mastery of Python, Excel, and at least one statistical or simulation framework (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, pandas, Monte Carlo toolkits).
- Experience designing or validating RNG-based game systems with controlled volatility and payout distribution.
- Strong understanding of player psychology, pacing, and anticipation curves — how math feels, not just how it works.
- Familiarity with regulatory and certification requirements for real-money games.
- Creative mindset: You love blending numbers with narrative, logic with emotion.
- Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, Matplotlib)
- Jupyter Notebooks for simulation & validation
- Excel/Google Sheets with advanced formulas & macros
- Custom in-house simulation frameworks
- Optional familiarity: SQL, AWS, or analytical dashboards
