Our current client is a leading international accounting and auditing company, providing the full scope of related services. On their behalf we are looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join their team in Sofia.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning of audit engagements and for developing audit strategy, adapting audit procedures and appropriately addressing risks;
- Participation in planning and risk assessment meetings by learning about the client's industry and recognizing key performance indicators and business trends while being informed of overall business/economic developments and their impact on the client's business;
- Determines project structure and evaluates and ensures appropriate allocation of resources;
- Responsible for the day-to-day management, oversight and execution of the audit engagement in accordance with professional standards, audit objectives and applicable legal and regulatory requirements;
- Adapts and implements audit procedures, supervises the work of senior associates, and reviews documentation of work performed;
- Responsible for the execution and completion of the audit engagement in accordance with agreed work schedules and budgets;
- Provides information to the manager on: progress for the relevant engagement; any material deviations from its implementation; identifying any fraud or error; difficulties during the implementation of the assigned engagement; and any communication difficulties with the client's staff;
- Inform the Manager in a timely manner of any technical, administrative or personnel-related problems that need to be addressed;
- Prepares the audit documentation;
- Prepare the preliminary audit report;
- Establishes and maintains effective communication with client management at each stage of the audit engagement and contributes to a strong and positive relationship with the client through interactions with its staff;
- Serves as a role model and mentor for less experienced team members, provides on-the-job training, and develops talented team members through assessment;
- Participates in engagements related to business advisory services, risk management, internal control and internal audit, and other assignments as assigned by company management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on a similar position;
- University degree in Accounting and/or Finance (education in economic technical school is an advantage);
- Excellent knowledge of the Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation, ISA and IFRS;
- Accounting and auditing certificate (ACCA or CPA);
- Good analytical, organizational and communication skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Strict compliance with deadlines;
- Excellent command of English - written and spoken;
- Excellent knowledge of business communication etiquette;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Excellent prioritization skills;
- Teamwork skills with strong interpersonal communication and management skills;
- Proficient working skills and excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
