Role Overview

The Financial Provisioning Expert will be a key strategic player in our risk management framework, responsible for navigating the intricate landscape of financial modeling, regulatory compliance, and predictive analytics. In a role that sits at the intersection of financial technology, regulatory science, and strategic planning, you will be critical in maintaining the financial resilience and predictive accuracy of our lending operations.

Your work will directly contribute to MFG's ability to make data-driven decisions, manage potential economic uncertainties, and maintain robust financial health in a complex and dynamic market environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the monthly provisions process, delivering comprehensive analysis and insights to senior management

· Develop and calibrate impairment models with precision

· Create automated monitoring dashboards and analytical tools

· Validate modeling solutions using champion-challenger approaches

· Develop IFRS 9 compliant methodologies for new financial businesses

· Support audit review processes by articulating key movement drivers

· Engage with legal and financial departments on emerging regulatory changes

Qualifications We Seek

· Expert-level background in IFRS 9 impairments and stress testing methodologies

· Extensive experience in:

• Developing and monitoring Credit Models
• Impairment modeling
• Stress testing and forecasting

· Advanced technical skills:

• Mandatory: SQL, Python or R
• Preferred: Data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)

· Profound analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail

· Some experience with:

• Credit risk models (PD, EAD & LGD)
• Credit scorecards in retail or commercial environments

· Comprehensive understanding of credit bureau reporting requirements
