Through its connectivity solutions, advanced integration, and analysis options, they unlock the full potential of biomedical data by making it intelligible and usable for clinical and operational decision-making. With more than 25 years in the industry, the company has established strong partnerships with major manufacturers of medical devices and is present in more than 2000 hospitals in 39 countries.

As part of the AI branch of the Device Connectivity team, the Biomedical Data Scientist's role is to conduct experiments, making use to develop and optimize cutting-edge algorithms and methods that extract, analyze, and generate insights from biomedical data assembled from medical device technical documentation (operator manuals, communication protocols). This includes designing pipelines for large-scale data preprocessing, fine-tuning machine learning and generative AI models, and collaborating with domain experts to ensure accuracy and relevance in healthcare applications. You will also interact closely with the Device Connectivity and System Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Model Development: Design, implement, and optimize machine learning and generative models for biomedical NLP tasks.Data Pipeline Management: Work with large-scale biomedical and medical device datasets to perform data cleansing, preprocessing, and feature engineering to ensure high-quality inputs.Algorithm Research & Implementation: Research cutting-edge NLP and Generative AI methods and apply them to medical device use cases.Performance Optimization: Optimize model architectures and hyperparameters for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.Documentation & Reporting: Document model workflows, experiments, and best practices. Present findings and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The skillset we are looking for:

Masters or Ph.D. in Machine LearningProven experience in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and understanding of advanced NLP techniques (transformer architectures, large language models)Strong proficiency in Python Experience with data processing libraries (NumPy, pandas) and NLP libraries (Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy)Basic knowledge of medical devicesBasic knowledge of clinical/hospital information systemsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced R&D environment.
