We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join one of our clients— a global leader in providing fundamental analysis, data, and advisory services across the energy markets, including oil, natural gas, LNG, NGLs, and emerging energy markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with oil & gas analysts to understand, document, and map data sources,

especially Excel spreadsheets and manual data inputs.

• Analyze and translate analyst-created data logic into clear business rules, workflows, and

data models.

• Create data flow diagrams, process maps, and supporting documentation to capture

existing processes and identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks.

• Partner with the development and data engineering teams to support automation,

integration, and transformation of data processes.

• Act as a bridge between business users (analysts) and technical teams, ensuring business

needs are accurately captured and delivered.

• Help define data quality checks and validation steps to ensure integrity of analytical

outputs.

• Define and track key process metrics (e.g., turnaround time, data error rate, manual

touchpoints) to assess efficiency and support data operations improvement.

• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and change management during deployment of

workflow enhancements or tooling upgrades.

• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and greater automation.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience as a Business Analyst with a strong technical edge — particularly in working

with SQL-heavy environments or legacy systems.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex SQL queries and legacy data logic.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — you're not afraid to ask

“why?” or say “this could be better.”

• Background in consultancy, data, or energy is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Bonus points if you’re curious about AI and automation in data workflows.
• Knowledge of oil & gas data (e.g., production, supply/demand, pricing) is a nice-to-have,

but not required.
