Specialist, Payment Processing

As a Payment Processing Specialist at Hiab, you’ll take on a vital role in ensuring smooth and accurate financial transactions across our international Invoice To Pay (ITP) operations. From preparing payment proposals and verifying transactions to reconciling bank statements and resolving payment exceptions, your precision and reliability will help keep our payment processes running like clockwork.
This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cross-border payments, collaborate with banking partners and internal teams, and deepen your expertise in ERP systems like SAP. Main tasks and responsibilities:
Perform transactional activities related to the Payments area with minimal supervision
Create and process payment proposals according to the agreed payment schedule
Review and manage exceptional payments in line with established procedures
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all payments
Investigate and resolve payment-related queries promptly
Complete daily tasks in accordance with team allocations and priorities
Post and reconcile bank statements, including manual and electronic entries
Monitor incoming bank statements and escalate missing or delayed statements
Support month-end closing activities and reporting
Identify recurring issues or unusual transactions and escalate them to the Team Lead
Adhere to company policies, internal controls, procedures, and legal requirements at all times
What you’ll need to succeed:
Education
University degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
Experience
1–3 years of professional experience in the Invoice-to-Pay (ITP) or Payments area
Previous involvement in handling payment transactions and resolving related queries
Competencies
Proficient in English – both written and spoken
Confident in handling a wide range of queries, from routine to complex
Strong focus on customer service and effective interpersonal communication
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in daily tasks
Skilled in analyzing and solving problems independently
Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
Comfortable working with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) or Microsoft Office tools
Proactive mindset with the ability to suggest and implement process improvements
Communicates clearly and professionally across different channels
Reliable, disciplined, and compliant with internal policies and control standards
Able to manage tasks efficiently under tight deadlines
