We are currently looking for a Senior Software Architect to join the team!

Your responsibilities:

• Design, enhance, and help shape our group-wide equipment software and its surrounding components.
• Strong contribution to the refactoring of our software and software architecture towards a more modular and decoupled design.
• Establish and mentor a development team build around this new structure, enabling scalability, maintainability and faster innovation cycles.
• Support agile development teams on site and in the headquarter in Germany.
• Ensure the AIXTRON quality standard through suitable concepts, implementation, testing, and documentation, in compliance with applicable international standards — delivering stable, maintainable, and future-proof software.
• You mentor junior engineers and grow a knowledge sharing culture within the team
• You continuously develop the used technology stack and push innovation

Your profile:

• You are passionate about software development and software architecture.
• You enjoy working in a team, act independently and in a structured manner, possessing excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility.
• You hold a degree in an IT-related field and ideally have 10 years of professional experience as a software developer/architect in the design and development of complex software systems, always keeping both functional and non-functional requirements in mind.
• You have extensive knowledge of modern application architecture, methods, and technologies (e.g., microservices, event-driven communication, data architecture) as well as techniques for designing and documenting software architecture.
• You have experience with both Windows-based host systems and Linux-systems, as well as virtual machines and containers, along with their management.
• You are experienced in programming languages such as C# and JavaScript (Node.js/Vue.js), along with the associated tool landscape.
• You are always ready to explore new topics, act as a source of ideas and keep an eye on innovations and trends in IT.
• You have good communication skills in English and ideally also in German, and you are willing to travel occasionally.
• You are highly motivated to mentor younger colleagues and act as a pillar in Sofia to build up software development capabilities over the coming years.
