Risk Analyst (FinTech)

Key responsibilities:
Input, analyze and interpret financial statements, developing a view of the merchants’ financial health.
Analyze and interpret merchant & industry business models, credit reports, merchant processing history, background investigations, bank and trade references, etc.
Conduct merchant assessments, Federal and State Regulatory Compliance, Credit Card Compliance and Legal Considerations.
Estimate financial exposures, using reasonable assumptions, and assess the need for and extent of risk mitigation measures in accordance with policies and procedures.
Communicate professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders on info request, risk insights and recommendations throughout.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation and audit trails of underwriting assessments, reports, methodologies, etc. in a timely manner.
Hiring Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Have 1 to 3+ years of relevant experience in merchant underwriting, commercial lending and/or equivalent experience.
Be experienced in financial statement analysis, financial modeling and/or valuation.
Be a team player, with strong interpersonal & communication skills.
Be familiar with MS Office, Salesforce, internet research & database tools. SQL is a plus, but not essential.
Fluency in English. Additional foreign language would be considered as an advantage.
