Duties & responsibilities:
- Evaluating different suppliers based on quality, timeliness, and price;
- Builds and maintains relationships with vendors;
- Prepares and processes purchase orders for materials, services and equipment;
- Ensuring purchases meet the criteria of the company;
- Managing daily purchasing activities;
- Managing supplier relations and negotiating timelines, availability, conditions etc;
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation;
- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs;
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications;
- Working to improve purchasing systems and processes;
- Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness;
- Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock;
- Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries;
- Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the purchasing process;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Experience as a purchasing or logistics specialist / or a similar role / at least 2 years;
- Solid understanding of supply chain management, logistics and inventory management;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP;
- Fluent English;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills;
- Strong planning and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Attention to detail.
