Project Engineer

Ficosota is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our HDT (Hygiene, Disposable & Tissue) Division, based in Shumen. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of engineering and industrial investment projects, from concept development through to commissioning and handover to operations.
This full-time position offers exposure to local and international projects, modern production technologies, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering and investment projects from concept development and specification through to installation, commissioning, and handover
Prepare technical specifications, manage tendering processes, and select suppliers and contractors
Coordinate all project phases, including engineering design, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, and final acceptance
Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and on-site execution
Design and lead engineering project to ensure improvements in output, cost, quality, and safety
Coordinate cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, Procurement, Finance)
Report project progress to the Head of Global Business Unit and Head of Supply Chain and support operational readiness
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering
2–4 years’ experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or MEP projects
Experience in industrial plants or FMCG manufacturing is an advantage
Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, MEP, HVAC, and commissioning processes
Experience or exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) and troubleshooting of production- or equipment-related issues
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of manufacturing and industrial engineering principles
Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and project management software
Knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO)
Proven ability in project planning, risk management, and resource coordination
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and matrix organisations
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel as required
Valid driving licence and own transport
