They are modernizing the $70B access control market with AI-powered facial authentication and a cutting-edge physical security platform and thus seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join Sofia office, with a primary focus on Procure-to-Pay (P2P). processes. This role supports our transition from outsourced to in-house accounting for both the Bulgarian and U.S. legal entities. The ideal candidate is not only strong in accounting operations, but also excited to create and improve processes, automate workflows, and work closely with internal teams—including daily collaboration with our U.S.-based Finance team. Flexibility is key, as you’ll occasionally need to align your working hours to ensure smooth communication with colleagues in the U.S. (San Francisco). You’ll also contribute to Order-to-Cash (O2C) activities and support broader finance operations as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own the full Procure-to-Pay process, including vendor communication, invoice processing, documentation, and timely payments
- Maintain and manage vendor master data
- Support PO lifecycle: creation, tracking, and closure of stale or inactive POs
- Ensure proper classification and documentation of all expense transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Provide support to vendors and internal stakeholders across departments
- Assist the client‘s employees with Ramp purchases and reimbursements
- Work daily with NetSuite, Ramp, and Payhawk
- Generate actual vs. budget reports per department monthly
- Support the monthly close with accruals, prepaids, and vendor-related reconciliations
- Build procedures and ensure process consistency and compliance
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring processes and reporting
- Collaborate closely with the U.S.-based Finance team and other departments
- Maintain flexibility in working hours to ensure effective cross-time-zone communication
- Associate’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, or Payhawk is a strong advantage
- Excellent command of English and Bulgarian (spoken and written)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) and Microsoft Excel
- Flexible working hours to support communication with U.S. teams
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for automation and efficiency
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional, and international environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- All vendor invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time
- Expense transactions are well-documented, coded properly, and traceable in Ramp and NetSuite
- POs are actively monitored, managed, and closed as needed
- Client’s employees are supported with purchases and reimbursements in a timely manner
- Departmental budget reports are delivered monthly
- Accounting procedures are consistently followed
- Routine tasks are automated to reduce manual work
