HUMANA People to People is a network of 29-member organizations, located in Europe, USA, Africa, Asia and Latin America, and connects entities working in 45 countries. We are involved in various development activities and support projects mainly in third world countries. The main focus is primarily the fight against poverty. Our projects focus on the areas of climate change, combating and preventing HIV/AIDS, education and community support, small scale farming and humanitarian aid. Being part of our team therefore has an added value and we believe we contribute to a better and fairer future for all. Part of our funding for implementing above mentioned programs, is a direct result from a network of second-hand shops - sustainable fashion, as we like to call them.
In the Central and Easter Europe Cluster, we operate 100+ shops and the expansion and strengthening of our operations involves growing and developing our initiatives strategically and locally in the Cluster countries.
Thus, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team in the exciting journey of our growing business at the position of:
PR AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER
In the Central and Easter Europe Cluster, we operate 100+ shops and the expansion and strengthening of our operations involves growing and developing our initiatives strategically and locally in the Cluster countries.
Thus, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team in the exciting journey of our growing business at the position of:
PR AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER
This interesting and exciting role:
- Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
- Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
- Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, email, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
- Writes press releases and other media communications to promote company.
- Updates and maintains Web content.
- Promotes and attends special events and functions; promotes and reports on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; new products or services; community service activities; and new hires, promotions.
- Networks within the textile sector and participates in events for stakeholder and policy makers.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with consumer, community, employee, and public interest groups.
- Plans or directs the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization's agenda and accomplishments.
- Studies the organization's objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies and promote products, ideas, and services.
- Confers with managers to identify trends and group interests and providing advice on business decisions.
- Arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
- Responds to requests for information release or press conference from the media or designating a spokesperson or source of information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field.
- Five years of experience in marketing, publications, or a related field required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bulgarian.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent team management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to pitch to media.
- Knowledge of consumer marketing.
- An ability to work on big strategy plans as well as day-to-day tasks.
- Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
- Ability to run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet objectives.
- Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills.
- Creativity in securing coverage and buzz with traditional outlets.
- Understanding of social media and solid experience working with content.
- Project and budget management skills.
- Responds well under pressure with strict time limit.
