We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team and support the growth of BOX NOW. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing the end-to-end payroll process while ensuring compliance with Bulgarian tax, labor, and social security laws. We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team and support the growth of BOX NOW. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing the end-to-end payroll process while ensuring compliance with Bulgarian tax, labor, and social security laws. This role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-growing company, with direct impact on employee satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full payroll processing for employees in Bulgaria, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Calculate salaries, bonuses, overtime, night shift payments, and other compensation elements.
- Administer employee leave (annual, sick, maternity) and statutory compensations.
- Submit payroll declarations to the National Revenue Agency (NRA) and National Social Security Institute (NSSI)
- Maintain personnel files, employment contracts, and contract addenda.
- Stay informed about changes to labor and social security laws, ensuring compliance with the latest requirements.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management, audits, and external authorities.
- Act as the point of contact for employees on payroll, social security, and related matters.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll documentation.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to refine processes and improve operating procedures.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of Bulgarian tax, labor, and social security laws, including minimum wages, tax rates, and leave payments.
- Proven experience handling the full payroll cycle.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with payroll software (OMEX preferred).
- High attention to detail, responsibility, and confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and implementing best practices.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
