The role
In this role, you will be part of the People&Culture team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for personnel administration, accurately processing employee payroll, ensuring timely payments, keeping the personnel files up-to-date, managing and updating payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. You'll ensure compliance with Bulgarian labour legislation, tax regulations and company`s rules. Additionally, you'll troubleshoot and resolve any payroll-related issues, contributing to the process improvements and efficiency in payroll and administrative workflows.

The role
In this role, you will be part of the People&Culture team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for personnel administration, accurately processing employee payroll, ensuring timely payments, keeping the personnel files up-to-date, managing and updating payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. You'll ensure compliance with Bulgarian labour legislation, tax regulations and company`s rules. Additionally, you'll troubleshoot and resolve any payroll-related issues, contributing to the process improvements and efficiency in payroll and administrative workflows.
What You'll Do
- Preparing and retaining documentation related to employment contracts, additional agreements, termination orders, and other documentation related to employment relations.
- Tracking and document employee absences, including paid leave, unpaid leave, sickness leave, maternity leave etc.
- Preparation and processing of employees' monthly payroll in accordance with applicable labour and social security legislation. Ensuring that payroll reflects the correct compensation for employees based on their shift schedules, summarized working time, and legal requirements.
- Ensuring timely payment of salaries and related contributions (e.g., social security, health insurance, income tax).
- Submitting the necessary information to the appropriate authorities (NRA, NSSI, NSI, LI etc.) within the legally established deadlines.
- Accurate processing and calculation of benefits such as food vouchers, health insurance, sports cards, and other perks.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date personnel labour files, records, and documentation, maintaining and updating payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy, strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Assisting the employees with the issuance of official work certificates, references, etc., related to the employment relations between the employees and the employer.
- Preparing detailed reports and analyses to support informed business decision-making.
- Providing timely and accurate responses to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits and on topics related to their employment relations with the employer.
- Preparing civil contracts and calculation of fees.
- Proven experience in payroll and employee administration (5+ years).
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.
- In-depth knowledge of labour and social security legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Practical experience with payroll software (Style will be considered as an advantage), MS Office (especially Excel) and HRIS platforms.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Self-motivated, well organized, with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude, effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on team and stakeholder collaboration.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential data securely.
