For our client – a leading manufacturer of food products, we are looking for a driven professional for the mission of:

MATERIAL PLANNER
The Major Responsibilities Include:
- Calculates and timely places orders to suppliers for raw and packaging materials in accordance with production needs based on production plans.
- Manages the provision of a short-term requirements plan for the consumption of materials for suppliers and/or procurement upon request.
- Identify risks in material supply plans and escalation to enable decisions to be made to achieve business goals and protect customer service.
- Performs these operations in accordance with the internal guidelines of the company.
- Work with scheduler and plant PIL to optimize raw and packaging material introduction and depletion.
- Work with suppliers, central material planners, procurement, and other key stakeholders to ensure sufficient capacity to meet business flexibility, managing stock and requirements to cover outages, maintenance and maintain supply.
- Manage the supplier relationship for locally managed suppliers, in collaboration with the central materials planning team.
- Set-up and maintain SLAs with key suppliers.
- Support contingency activities across the network.
- Liaise external warehouse capacity to ensure a smooth supply at the least cost for the manufacturing unit is achieved.
- Ensure the availability of correct documents for regular deliveries (internal/external).
- Manage the material change aspects of new material introductions/run outs to least cost & raise final obsolescence requests.
- Work closely with PIL and suppliers on projects, like regulatory changes, renovations, or introductions.
- Work with Quality to manage the impact of non-conforming materials and services.
- Key Member of OPS meetings.
- Involved in the deployment of MOS initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Uses standard MOS and continuous improvement tools.
- Understand and eradicate losses associated with material shortages (RCA).
- Act as a role model for safety.
- Complies with all SHE rules and (food) quality and safety according to the company Guidelines.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in a manufacturing/ logistic/ supply chain/ new product development job.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience in a FMCG company is a must.
- Strong planning & supply chain experience with ability to manage multiple inputs from different departments with effective prioritization.
- University degree in a relevant area.
- Fluent English.
- PC proficiency - MS office, SAP.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business and the ability to demonstrate strong facilitation and meetings management skills.
- Ability to apply MOS/LEAN tools (e.g. VSM, SMED, KAIZEN to improve operations, planning & logistical processes).
- Ability to manage relationships at all levels across a wide variety of functions to achieve results with limited authority.
- High level of drive and self-motivation, ambitious to succeed and prepared to go the extra mile.
