Linux Cloud Engineer (Mid-Level)

We are looking for a Mid-Level Linux Cloud Engineer to join our cloud operations and engineering teams. In this role, you will provide independent Level 2 (L2) support for Linux-based environments and act as the main escalation point for L1 engineers.

You will work hands-on with Linux systems, containerized workloads, automation, monitoring, and web technologies. While Seniors remain responsible for architecture and complex design decisions, you are expected to solve the majority of operational issues autonomously and contribute actively to platform reliability and continuous improvement.

The role is open in various locations such as Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse and Burgas.

The position includes On-call duties.

To keep it short, below are some key responsibilities:

• Provide independent Level 2 (L2) technical support for Linux environments based on Debian and Ubuntu, ensuring availability, performance, and stability
• Act as the primary escalation point for L1 engineers, guiding incident resolution and validating troubleshooting steps
• Investigate and resolve complex incidents affecting Linux systems and applications, escalating to Senior engineers only for architectural or non-standard issues
• Support containerized applications, performing in-depth troubleshooting, health checks, and recovery actions (including Kubernetes environments where applicable)
• Operate and maintain monitoring using Zabbix, including alert analysis, tuning recommendations, and proactive issue detection
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain HAProxy for load balancing and traffic routing under established designs
• Configure, secure, and maintain Apache and Nginx web servers, including certificates, performance tuning, and integration with backend services
• Execute and improve automation tasks, adapting existing Ansible playbooks and contributing enhancements under senior guidance
• Participate actively in incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews, proposing corrective and preventive actions
• Collaborate closely with Senior engineers on platform improvements and reliability initiatives
• Maintain and improve technical documentation and runbooks, ensuring L1 usability and operational clarity

Technology Stack Used & Required Knowledge:

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration (Debian / Ubuntu)·
• Good understanding of containers and how containerized applications run (Kubernetes optional)
• Operational experience supporting Redis
• Experience working with monitoring and alerts (Zabbix optional)
• Experience with HAProxy and general load-balancing concepts
• Hands-on experience with Apache and Nginx
• Basic experience with automation and configuration management (Ansible optional)
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals and firewall concepts
• Experience with Red Hat / CentOS is a plus
