Junior Accountant, Transactional Excellence

Job function RTR

Location: Sofia, BG

Country/Region: BG

As a Junior Accountant at Hiab, you will play an important role in supporting the full RTR cycle and ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting. You will gain experience across core accounting processes — from month-end closing and reconciliations to intercompany transactions and internal controls.

This position offers exposure to a wide range of finance operations and collaboration with teams across our international network, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in accounting and finance. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and digitalization initiatives within our shared service environment. The role begins with two months of onsite training in our Sofia office, followed by a flexible hybrid work model.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Deliver accurate and timely accounting services in line with internal controls and company procedures

Ensure correctness of data in company systems and identify unusual events, escalating and resolving them with your supervisor

Participate in process transitions and knowledge transfers

Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation, ensuring full compliance with internal control procedures and accounting policies (CAS)

Provide cross-training and back-up support within the Record to Report (RTR) area

Support activities related to General Accounting (GA) and Intercompany (IC), as well as reallocations from Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)

Maintain ongoing control over accounting activities in your assigned ledger and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What you’ll need to succeed:

Education:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Experience:

0-2 years of relevant experience in finance operations

Competencies:

Experience with simple query handling

Good MS Office skills, ERP knowledge

Strong team player

Problem-solving attitude

To demonstrate analytical skills

Good interpersonal & communication skills

Taking initiative in a proactive manner to improve own and team work practices

Proficiency of written and oral English.
