Our Client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking a talented Java Developer to join their Market Data Platform team. This is a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects related to low-latency, high-throughput data systems and impact trading strategies and data management at a large scale.

About the Role As a Java Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for capturing, processing, and managing market data. Your focus will be on optimizing data pipelines, building high-performance systems, and delivering reliable market data solutions that support research and trading processes. You will have the opportunity to work with a mix of external vendor products, design and enhance data platforms, and contribute to the automation of key processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop low-latency, high-throughput Java systems for tick data platforms.
• Collaborate with real-time tick and historical data vendors to ingest, process, and distribute data.
• Build and optimize tools for the visualization and management of large-scale datasets.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of data pipelines using technologies like Kafka, ArcticDB, and MongoDB.
• Contribute to continuous integration, testing, and deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Docker.

Tech Stack:

• Languages: Java, Python
• Platforms: Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack
• Data & Tools: Kafka, RMDS/TREP, MongoDB, ArcticDB
• Automation & Monitoring: Ansible, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana
• Collaboration: Bitbucket, Slack, ELK stack, Airflow

Required skills:

• Strong experience with Java development and working on Linux platforms.
• Expertise in building and maintaining scalable and performant systems.
• Good knowledge of database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices (e.g., agile development, CI/CD, code review).
• Exposure to data engineering concepts, stream processing, and data pipelines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with tick data or financial market data.
• Knowledge of open-source frameworks like NumPy, Pandas, Spark.
• Previous experience in low-latency systems and real-time data processing.
• Understanding of financial markets and instruments is a plus.
