We are looking for a Junior HR Generalist to join our team. This role involves assisting management and various departments with labour law concerns, employee management, and conducting employee discussions.

Primary Responsibilities

Adheres to AMLRS policies on ethics and integrity · Responds to first-line HR questions from employees; research, analyze, and respond to employee/manager questions and/or issues regarding HR policies and processes Manages email and telephonic correspondence with high customer orientation and compliance to stated policies, procedures and expectations Onboarding of new hires-checking references, fingerprinting, drug screening, new hire orientations ·Partner with new hire trainers to provide direction and counsel to employees based on performance Employee Relations-conferring with managers regarding the initial handling of employee disciplinary issues; provide coaching and support throughout any performance improvement/corrective action process HRIS Administration-entering data and creating reports Benefit Administration-processing benefit changes and enrollments, answering employee questions regarding benefits Retirement Plan Administration-working with 3rd party administrator by processing enrollments and changes Workers Compensation & FMLA-working with 3rd party administrators by appropriately handling the reports and paperwork, responding to employee inquiries Unemployment Compensation-filing initial response to claims Audit preparation-assures that the HR Department meets audit requirements Ensures compliance with applicable legal requirements and agency certification standards Establish and maintain solid working relations across all levels of management to ensure consistency and sharing of HR best practices, solicit information and feedback and keep all parties apprised of appropriate/common issues. Consults and collaborates with other members of the People & Culture team regarding employee relations investigations, Corrective Action Reports, and terminations. Assist with HR process improvement initiatives (Culture, Performance, Recognition, Development) Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field plus four years of professional work experience. Experience in other areas of HR would be an important asset. Experience with personnel management and payroll software nice to have. Fluent English. Proficiency in MS Office. Strong teamwork skills. Excellent communication skills, service orientation, and discretion in handling sensitive data. Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to work. A high level of initiative.
