For our IT Division, we are currently looking for a Head of Bank Cards Applications Section.
Role Overview The Head of Bank Cards Applications Section is responsible for the end-to-end implementation, development, and operation of card-related digital services and APIs. This role ensures that business needs are translated into secure, compliant, and high-performing technical solutions.
The Head of Bank Cards Applications section manages a team of engineers and specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role involves strategic planning, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable and innovative payment card services that meet regulatory and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities Technical & Operational Leadership Design, implement, and operate Payment Cards solutions and their respective APIs in alignment with business and regulatory requirements. Ensure that solutions meet the functional, security, and integration requirements outlined in design documentation. Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to manage development and operational activities within budget, time, and quality constraints. Oversee the quality assurance process to ensure full coverage of developed functionality, security standards, and API integrations. Ensure reliable operations and service continuity within agreed SLAs and underpinning contracts with vendors. Strategic Planning & Compliance Participate in the annual IT project portfolio planning and budgeting process. Ensure technological compliance with mandates from payment systems and applicable industry regulations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for Payment Cards solutions and APIs, leveraging feedback, metrics, and innovation. Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration Work closely with software vendors and cross-functional teams within the Bank to ensure high quality and reliability of card-related services. Maintain transparent and proactive communication with stakeholders regarding development progress and operational health. People Management & Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Cards experts, DevOps engineers and technical specialists. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on ownership, innovation, and excellence. Identify and allocate appropriate resources to meet project goals and operational demands. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and support career development within the team. Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across teams and departments.
The ideal candidate for the Head of Bank Cards Applications Section role should meet the following criteria (relevant certifications will be considered an advantage): Education & Professional Background University degree in Computer Science, Economics, Informatics, Electronics, or an equivalent combination of professional training and experience. Proven experience in the Payment Cards industry, including card processing systems and related software. Solid understanding of banking business processes, activities, and regulatory frameworks. Hands-on experience with card application functionalities and operational workflows. Technical & Industry Knowledge Strong knowledge of cards processing systems, industry regulations and compliance requirements. Familiarity with DevOps practices (advantageous). Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies and tools (advantageous). Language & Communication Skills Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
