Key responsibilities:
- Input, analyze and interpret financial statements, developing a view of the merchants’ financial health.
- Analyze and interpret merchant & industry business models, credit reports, merchant processing history, background investigations, bank and trade references, etc.
- Conduct merchant assessments, Federal and State Regulatory Compliance, Credit Card Compliance and Legal Considerations.
- Estimate financial exposures, using reasonable assumptions, and assess the need for and extent of risk mitigation measures in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders on info request, risk insights and recommendations throughout.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation and audit trails of underwriting assessments, reports, methodologies, etc. in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Have 1 to 3+ years of relevant experience in KYB, merchant underwriting, commercial lending and/or equivalent experience.
- Be experienced in financial statement analysis, financial modelling and/or valuation.
- Be a team player, with strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Be familiar with MS Office, Salesforce, internet research & database tools. SQL is a plus, but not essential.
- Fluency in English and German - level B2
