For our client, a leading company in the field of audit, consulting, accounting, tax, and management services, we are looking to hire a Chief Accountant / Accounting Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full-scope accounting operations and activities for an assigned client portfolio, in accordance with accounting principles and internal policies.
- Perform monthly closing processes and reconciliations for the designated clients.
- Prepare and manage contracts with counterparties.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to NAS and IFRS for allocated clients.
- Issue annual financial reports, analyses, forecasts, tax declarations, VAT returns, and Intrastat for the client portfolio.
- Prepare various reports and documentation to ensure compliance with financial and accounting procedures in line with Bulgarian tax legislation.
- Maintain relationships with auditors, tax authorities, and other external monitoring bodies on behalf of the clients.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an accounting firm.
- Excellent knowledge of Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation.
- University degree in Accounting and/or Finance (technical economic education is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and strict compliance with deadlines.
- Excellent team-working skills.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Ajur software is considered an advantage.
