Rubella Beauty AD was established in 1980 and currently is the largest cosmetics producer in Bulgaria with great traditions and experience in the field. Rubella is a trusted partner of some of the biggest companies in the cosmetics industry and fast-moving goods, like Unilever, ASDA, Tesco, Metro, Boots, Billa, DM and many more. Over 85% of Rubella’s products are exported to more than 55 countries in the world. As a leader in the cosmetics industry in Bulgaria, Rubella’s next step was to expand its portfolio and invest in Food supplements and Medicinal products production. The freshly established team for this new division consists of motivated specialists with more than 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Bulgaria and abroad. JOB PURPOSE: The Business Development Manager (Pharmaceutical) will be responsible for development of growth strategy focused on pharmaceutical business of the company. The ideal Business Development Manager will have a strong scientific background to manage technical due diligence, ensuring a thorough understanding of the potential and the risks of each opportunity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with sound scientific knowledge and drug development experience who enjoys an entrepreneurial environment. It is a dynamic role with significant career and company growth potential. MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitor and analyze data and market conditions to identify competitive advantage. 2. Identify and evaluate innovative drug development opportunities from pre-clinical through commercial stage. 3. Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business. 4. Evaluate potential targets, managing the cross functional process. This will include relevant team members in R&D, contract manufacturing, internal manufacturing, IP, Legal and Quality for new product launches. 5. Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization. 6. Research and build relationships with new clients. 7. Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals. 8. Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives. 9. Participate in pricing the solution/service. 10. Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. 11. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB 1. Business development management positions require a master’s degree in a scientific discipline and 5-8 years of experience in biotech or pharma business development or drug development with strong technical and/ or R&D experience. 2. Strong scientific background with deep knowledge of industry trends. 3. Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills. 4. A track record of accomplishment in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. 5. Excellent presentation skills that connect and resonate at the highest levels within a scientific corporate organization. 6. Strong team player and the ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization. 7. The ability to anticipate potential pitfalls, and proactively solve problems. 8. Strong team player and the ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization. 9. Professional with strong decision-making skills and ability to work effectively in a highly charged dynamic environment with competing priorities. 10. Demonstrated ability to create and build relationships with internal and external parties. 11. The ability to work independently as well as coordinate and lead large cross functional teams.
