A day in the Life:
- Oversees and manages a portfolio of contracts (studies) and is the finance-expert in relation to the Operations counterparts on the studies.
- Performs accounting and analysis of key financials; especially focusing on revenue and indirect costs.
- Is aware of the processes and controls under which the Operations Finance group operates.
- Works in lock-step with Operations and other finance colleagues, such as Commercial Finance, to complete scope change forms and ConMods for the Sponsor, in order to capture budget changes throughout the life of the studies.
- Completes detailed Month End procedures for your portfolio as outlined by the Operations Finance SOP. Involving tight deadlines and strict audit compliance.
- Closely monitors movements in the Gross Profit (GP) percentages of each study throughout a month, and takes necessary steps with counterparts to formally document changes or capture revenue opportunities via completed CNFs and/or ConMods.
- Performs data integrity checks between the various systems to ensure consistency and conformity.
- Identifies issues related to study setup parameters which impact revenue recognition and liaises with support staff to ensure these are resolved on a timely basis.
- Supports with data loads to our various systems, mainly budget related, and the reconciliation of that data post-load to ensure completeness.
- Supports both internal and external audit requests for your studies, as needed.
- Involved with upgrade and improvement testing of our various systems, as well as providing ideas of process improvements and efficiency savings.
- Analyzes unbilled reconciliations of your portfolio monthly or quarterly by closely following the guidance and performing the checks. Investigate and suggest actions for corrections of the variances.
- Demonstrate awareness of different system reports (Mosaic, Clarity, ADAPT). Run reports and validate them before sharing with other LOBs and team members. Escalate issues with reports (either issues with data or processing or running time etc.) to the line manager.
- Prepare month end reports for your portfolio of studies, when needed, and reconciliations by following the process guidance. Ensure the tasks are completed accurately and within the required deadlines.
- Assist with preparation and analysis on cost and revenue generating activities from the core Financial systems, Clarity and Mosaic.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply guidance to tasks while considering situations where deviation from the process may be required and raising these instances to line manager.
- Communicate within the team and cross LOB upon task completion or if any delays/system issues.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Finance/Accounting or any related field
- Certification/license is an advantage
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 1+ years).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Confidence to handle sensitive information and data effectively
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Detail oriented
- Working knowledge of accounting principles.
