About the role
As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will:
- Provide 2nd line technical support to clients, addressing issues related to hardware, software, networking infrastructure (Fortinet, Juniper & Cisco), and Azure cloud services
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex IT issues across multiple platforms, including networking, operating systems, and cloud environments (primarily Azure), escalating to 3rd line support when necessary
- Collaborate with other support engineers to resolve networking and Azure-related issues in a timely manner
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, networking systems, and software components, including Azure-based solutions and services
- Manage and resolve networking issues, including connectivity, firewalls, routers, and switches
- Assist clients with the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of Azure-based services such as virtual machines, storage, and networking
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security protocols, especially in cloud environments
- Document support processes and resolutions for future reference, with a focus on networking and Azure cloud troubleshooting
- Provide regular progress updates to customers, keeping them informed on the status of their issues and solutions
About you
To set you up for success, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a 2nd Line Support Engineer or similar role in an IT environment, with specific experience in networking and Azure support
- Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper or Fortinet networking equipment and systems is highly advantageous
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, such as virtual machines, networking, and storage, is preferred
- Experience in a Support/Service/Helpdesk environment, handling both networking and cloud-related technical issues
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hardware
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both on-premises and cloud environments
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent networking certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA) are a plus
